TOP 5 REASONS WHY WE LOVE THE Castelgarden XR3000 Robot Lawnmower

  • Castelgarden's XR3000 build quality is second to none. It's a solid, powerful robot lawnmower at an unbeatable price. Developed and built by Castelgarden in Italy specifically for European lawns. Parts are produced in Europe and readily available; there is no waiting weeks for a container from China. Fitted with German-manufactured silent blades that outlast the competition's blades by a long shot! With robust build quality and only 12.6kg, the XR3000 balances quality and usability.

  • Castelgarden's XR3000 Cable Free Mowing! Unlike the competition, there's no extra antenna to install either. The XR3000 uses GPS Signaling. Engineered for absolute accuracy, the XR3000 is the only robot lawn mower with the unique patented Active Guidance System (AGS). Some robots that use GPS signalling can get into trouble in low-signal areas or at different times of day, but the Castelgarden XR3000 can predict GPS signal quality at different times of day and intelligently plans ahead to ensure it can mow uninterrupted when the signal is strongest. Note: With all GPS robots, having a good signal is a must - a quick test you can do yourself is seeing if you have any reception while making a call on your lawn.

  • Castelgarden's XR3000 Lack of hidden fees. The XR3000 comes with a 5 Year Warranty! No extra price for extended warranties, what's not to love? Another big factor to consider is that the Castelgarden robot range is the only range that offers FREE connectivity for life. That's a subscription of 50-80 euro a year that you don't have to pay.

  • Castelgarden's XR3000 Strong Battery Life for lawn coverage. The battery is the engine of a robot, and the quality of your robot's battery can make or break it. The XR3000 is equipped with a long-lasting ePower battery; the Castelgarden XR3000 can reliably cut up to 4,500sqm. The next session will always start where the previous one stopped, so the robot cuts a zone completely before moving onto the next. How it looks is up to you with up to 4 different finishes.

  • Castelgarden's XR3000 Ease of use. Advanced software is constantly being updated automatically, so no need to worry. Using the XR3000 is far from rocket science. There is an app full of options for you to play with, but if you're not into the techy stuff, no problem. The XR3000 can set its own schedule for cutting, set the blade height, notice and add new obstacles all on its own, etc. Want the robot to go to an area or go back to the station out of schedule? No bother, with two presses in the app the XR3000 responds. How much or little you want to interact with the XR3000 is up to you.

  • BONUS REASON - at Coynes.ie we include a FREE in-store or over the phone lawn consultation. This will determine if the Castelgarden XR3000 is right for your lawn by checking the size, shape, zones and GPS signal of your lawn. Give us a call today for more info.

Why choose the Castelgarden XR3000 at Coynes?

We at S&F Coyne LTD were early adopters of robot lawn mowers. We've been selling and installing them since 2019. The first cabled lawn mowers worked great when they worked and gave trouble when they didn't. They required a full team of people that knew their stuff to keep Hundreds of them up and going and our customer network happy.

The first of the cable-less mowers had some causes for concern with GPS accuracy and signalling, so we needed to find the right robot range moving forward. After countless on-lawn tests with different makes and models, we are confident that the Castelgarden XR Robot range is the best robot range in the long-run for a few real-world reasons.

The XR Range is advanced, but the tech is tried and tested enough to be reliable rather than new, flashy but troublesome. The build quality and app are both simple and clean, with no needless complications and gimmicks that break. Last but not least, the biggest reason is the brand. Castelgarden is a household name in Europe, producing iconic lawn mowers for over 90 years. Their focus is always to produce lawn mowers known to be reliable workhorses, and they have hit that mark with the XR robot range.

If you want an advanced, solid robot mower with a 5-year warranty, easy maintenance and quality hardware, made by an established company operating in the EU, the Castelgarden XR3000 is for you!

Castelgarden XR3000 – Precision Meets Innovation
Engineered for absolute accuracy, the Castelgarden XR3000 is the only robotic lawn mower with patented Active Guidance System (AGS) technology. It predicts GPS quality and plans ahead for uninterrupted mowing, even in challenging areas.

With fully virtual installation via the app, setting or updating boundaries is simple. Powered by a long-lasting ePower battery, it can cover up to 4,500 m², always resuming where it left off for a perfect finish. Quiet operation, smart “stay-away” zones, and free lifetime connectivity make lawn care effortless.

Enjoy a healthier lawn – and more time to enjoy it.

Engineered for absolute accuracy, the Castelgarden XR3000 is the only robot lawn mower with the unique patented Active Guidance System (AGS) technology.

Other autonomous mowers may lose signal or be affected by obstacles in built-up areas, meaning you would have to intervene to have them getting the job finished. But the Castelgarden XR3000 autonomous robot mower can predict the GPS signal quality at different times of day and intelligently plans ahead to ensure it can mow uninterrupted when the signal is strongest.

The Castelgarden XR3000 knows exactly when, where and how to cut your grass to keep your lawn healthy – and give you and your family time to enjoy your garden.

The installation is fully virtual, meaning the working perimeter can be set through the app – ask your dealer for advice for the first installation. If your garden layout should change, you will simply need to open the app, and teach your XR3000 the new details.

Equipped with our long-lasting ePower battery, the Castelgarden XR3000 can reliably cut up to 4,500sqm. The next session will always start where the previous one stopped, so the robot can care for the whole surface by cutting different zones every day.

Excellent sound insulation keeps motor noise within the autonomous robot mower's outer shell. Or for days when you’ve got people over for a party, you can use the app’s stay-away setting to tell the robotic lawn mower what areas to avoid at what times.

When it comes to maintenance, the sturdy outer shell can easily be removed without tools. If you need to clean the machine's body with a direct waterflow ensure to keep the robot in its working position (horizontal, wheels downwards). If you are just cleaning the blades, use a brush.

No direct waterflows should be used when the robot is upside-down.

Free connectivity for the lifetime of your robot. No extra costs needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much grass can it cut and for how long?

The Castelgarden XR3000 covers 4500 square metres. Its cutting width is 26cm. The XR3000 sets its own schedule once installed and will go out to cut twice a day. On the schedule, it will pick a lawn, cut it completely, then move on to another lawn. If it completes 70% of lawn 1 in the first cut, it will return to its finishing point on the second cut to complete the remaining 30% before moving on to lawn 2 and beginning the process again.
If you don't want it on a schedule, you can send it out remotely yourself to whatever lawn you please for a cutting cycle which is about two hours worth of cutting.

Can I check to see if the Castelgarden XR3000 will work on my lawn myself?

Yes, you can. You can perform the same prelim install checks that we do. First, do you have a good phone signal for phone calls on your lawn? If your phone is breaking up, so will the robot's signal to the GPS. Second is optional: download the stigo.GO app onto your phone and register. Hit the three lines in the top left corner and click on "MY IDEAL ROBOT MOWER" Hit the START Button. Pop in your Eircode and Hit "VERIFY SIGNAL". The app will then tell you if you have good coverage or not. Third, go to Google Earth, put in your Eircode and measure the size of your lawn. If it’s under 4500mtr2 you're good to go! There's no need to do these checks though, just give us a call or pop in store, and we can do it all for you.

What settings can I change within my XR3000 app?

There is plenty to play with in the app. The home screen will show the battery life, the percentage of completion on the lawn the XR3000 is working on, and its status, E.G at home, mowing, etc. As well as the date and time of the next mowing session and the prompt button if you want your XR1500 to get to work, come home, etc.

In the settings you can:

Set the mowing schedules, set the cutting mode - Schedule or spot cut, Send the mower to each lawn to spot cut, See the gps location of the mower, set the blade height, turn on or off anti theft, set different cutting heights for each lawn, turn on of off the rain sensor, turn on of off smart cutting height, turn on or off obstacle notification and send your XR3000 into hybernation mode for the winter.

Do I need anything extra to get my Castelgarden Robot up and running?

Yes and no. There are a few extras you may need depending on your lawn set up. The robot comes with a 5 metre long base station power lead - fine for most, but if you have a long way to go to the power socket you may need to swap the 5 metre for the 15 metre lead. The base station and robot are waterproof, but the plug and power pack are not. These should be fitted into a wall-mounted electrical box beside the outdoor plug socket, or inside a shed etc. If this isn't an option, then you may need to get an outdoor dribox to keep it out of the elements. At Coynes we offer all optional extras.

Do I need to get the Castelgarden Robot lawn mower installed by Coynes or can I do it myself?

You can install yourself, no problem if you'd like. We would always recommend that one of our in-house installers install the robot for you, as installation does require technical knowledge and familiarity to get the robot up and running correctly right out the gate. In our opinion, having the robot set up mowing and being shown all the features by our installers is worth it. You're getting a robot to give yourself less work, not more!

How does the Castelgarden autonomous robot lawnmower work?

Our autonomous robot mowers cut the grass within a virtual boundary. The perimeter is set via the App, meaning there is no boundary cable. The Castelgarden autonomous robot mowers don't need a physical perimeter wire, as they are guided by GPS satellite signal, combined with the predictive STIGA AGS technology. The robot is a maintaining mower which means it does not collect grass, but instead scatters the grass clippings on the lawn that then decompose acting as a natural fertiliser. Programmed to trim the lawn at scheduled intervals, it automatically knows when to return to the charging station.

What is the AGS technology installed on Castelgarden autonomous robot mowers and how does it work?

The patented Active Guidance System technology ‘learns and maps’ the dynamics of your garden, along with the patterns of GPS Satellite blind spots, as the robot moves throughout the day. This way, it allows the robotic lawn mower to plan cutting sessions ahead, knowing exactly when and where to cut, in order to never lose signal and avoiding the risk of stoppages. You don't need to intervene or do anything; after a learning phase (usually 3 days after activating the robot mower), the robot mower will have mapped both your lawn and the sky above it, knowing exactly when and where satellite signal is strong enough for it to mow uninterrupted.

Can a Castelgarden autonomous robot lawn mower work at night?

Yes, Castelgarden autonomous robotic lawn mowers could potentially mow at night, but we strongly recommend to have them working only during daylight hours, possibly in the suggested cutting sessions. As grass is very humid at night and the garden is occupied by nightlife, such as small insects or hedgehogs, we recommend for both nurturing lawn health and respecting the ecosystem to not schedule cutting sessions overnight.

Can a Castelgarden autonomous robot lawn mower work in the rain?

Yes, the Castelgarden autonomous robot lawn mower is able to operate in the rain; however, we recommend that you activate the rain sensors as mowing wet grass can ruin the lawn. When the sensors detect rain, the robot mower will then automatically return to the charging station and wait for the next working cycle.

Why is it recommended that you send your autonomous robot mower out twice a day?

One of the main reasons is related to lawn health... and also to your time on the lawn! By scheduling 2 daily cutting sessions in two specific time frames, the lawn will have the time to recover and stand up again. The autonomous robot mowers leave a minimum of 5 hours between mows. By doing that, the grass has plenty of time to seal in the moisture and heal from the 'injury' of the last cut, before the next mow. Then, with just 2 mowing cycles a day the autonomous robot mower leaves more than enough time between cuts for the grass blades to properly recover, stand up proud again, and continue to grow healthy.

How many cutting patterns does the Castelgarden autonomous robot mower have?

Through the STIGA.GO App, users can decide to make their Castelgarden autonomous robot mower mow in parallel lines from North-South, parallel lines from East-West, or they can choose to mow diagonally. The fluidity of the movements, as well as the cutting speed, has been accurately studied to promote lawn health.

Does the Castelgarden robot lawnmower collect grass clippings?

No, the Castelgarden autonomous robot mower does not collect grass. It does a sort of mulching, which means that grass clippings are scattered onto the lawn that then decompose acting as a natural fertiliser.

Does the robot mower have a remote control?

The Castelgarden autonomous robot mower is fully controllable via the STIGA.GO App on your mobile phone. From the very first installation, you have complete control of your robot through the STIGA.GO App on your phone.

How does the autonomous robot mower find its charging station?

During installation, the Castelgarden autonomous robotic lawn mower records the position of the charging station. Once the position of the charging base has been recorded, your robot mower will have no issues navigating back to base once your lawn has been taken care of.

Can the robot lawnmower cross a path between lawn areas?

Yes, the Castelgarden autonomous robotic lawn mower can follow a path between lawn areas, even through narrow spaces. You just need to be sure that the signal is stable even in those locations. During the perimeter registration, you will need to record the pathway, including those narrow spaces, considering the internet connection and the possible presence of obstacles.
